Cafe Hopping: Nylon Coffee Roasters

Looking for some serious, and seriously good, coffee? No games, no pastries around to distract you from the kopi goodness that Nylon brews on a daily basis. After a year of café hopping through Singapore, Nylon earned a firm top 3 spot for its dedication to roasting and brewing excellence.

I finally decided to write this review after having visited my local Starbucks for the umpteenth time this year. The lack of fine coffee is starting to get to me.

This self-dubbed "nano-roastery" is located just next door to the Duxton neighborhood, and is easily accessible via the Outram Park MRT. It does take some searching, as it is nestled inside an otherwise inconspicuous HDB unit. Inside, they've have a diverse daily offering of beans. And they welcome people bringing in their own supplies, although it would be tough to beat Nylon's. The end result of their meticulous attention to detail is a clean brew that springs with flavor.

In short? Go get Nylon coffee if you are in Singapore. Period. Along with Strangers', which happens to be right around the corner, these were my favorite coffee spots in the central area of the country.
